OS 6" map (1957)
Sheuchan's Cairn (Name Book 1849) is a conspicuous chambered round cairn of the Bargrennan group, composed of small stones, partly grass-covered. It is possible that peat obscures part of the cairn but as it stands it appears to measure 54' in diameter and 7' in maximum height with mutilations on the west and south sides, one of which has probably been a sheep pen. Small hollows have been dug in various parts of the cairn and SW of the centre the chamber has been exposed. It lies SW-NE, the entrance having been from the SW but there is no sign of the passage.
