A small spring supposed to have been dedicated to St Bryde prior to the Reformation.

Name Book 1858-1898

St Bryde's Well, known locally, is a copious spring flowing into a stone ring.

Visited by OS (RD) 23 October 1967.

St Bryde's well is situated in woodland at the edge of the escarpment overlooking the River Annan, some 320m NNW of St Bryde's Church (NY17SE 8). It consists of a spring, emanating from the eroded scarp at the foot of a beech tree into a stone basin of probable medieval date.
