Aerial Photographic Interpretation (20 February 1996)

NY 1212 8192 NY18SW 11.1

Air photography (RCAHMSAP 1983, 1988 and 1989) has revealed the cropmarks of an enclosure within the interior of the Roman temporary camp NY18SW 11.00 and about 200m N of Lochside steading (NY18SW 115). Subrectangular on plan, it measures about 40m from NW to SE by 35m transversely within a ditch up to 1.5m broad. Some of the aerial photographs (NMRS B116127-8) suggest the presence of a circular structure in the W corner of the interior.

Information from RCAHMS (SPH), 20 February 1996.

Listed as (rectilinear) enclosure.

RCAHMS 1997.
