Though much of this three-storeyed, square keep still remained about 1781, only a very small portion of its E wall was extant in 1856.
Statistical Account (OSA) 1793; Name Book 1856
No definite traces of this tower remain. It is probable, however, that part of one of its walls is incorporated in the old dyke, at NY 0857 7204, but this is difficult to discern owing to the dilapidated state of the dyke.
