The present kirk of Lochrutton occupies the site of the pre-Reformation one, and the old graveyard which surrounds it is circular.

E H M'Kerlie 1916

The present church at Lochrutton was built in 1819 and is believed to occupy the site of the pre-Reformation one (J Young, Lochfoot, Dumfriesshire). It is still in use. No information was found to say whether or not the old graveyard was circular.
