In 1510 the village of Terregles was erected into a Burgh of Barony, to be called Herries.
G Chalmers 1824
At one time there was a village of about 300 people on the farm of Terreglestown. The paving of the street is still visible.
NSA 1845 (G Heron and D Dickie)
Although there is no longer any sign of buildings there is some stone paving visible along a little lane leading to the farm house of Terreglestown, said to be the village street.
Name Book 1850
Some stone paving was seen but none which could with any certainty be associated with the old village.
