Aerial photography has revealed the presence of a ring-ditch in the corner of a field below Lowriesknowe Plantation, some 750m to the SSW of Holestane farm. It measures about 8m in diameter within a broad ditch broken by an entrance on the NW. It is plotted on a distribution map of henge monuments and penannular ring-ditches covering southern Scotland (RCAHMS 1997, 116, fig. 111).
