NX76SW 14 7364 6101.

Univallate sub-rectangular enclosure c.60m in width visible on APs taken by Jones. Copies are held in Dumfries Museum.

B Jones 1979.

The site of this enclosure is situated on an island in the River Dee and was under pasture on the date of visit. The area is relatively level, but is traversed by a number of shallow old stream channels; there are no visible remains of the enclosure.

Visited by RCAHMS (JRS/IMS) 7 September 1993.

Activities

Project (July 2002)

NX 736 609 Resistivity and fluxgate gradiometry survey were undertaken at a cropmark ovate enclosure as part of an undergraduate training programme in July 2002. The resistivity survey indicated features within the interior of the enclosure, and also evidence for a couple of additional smaller enclosures within the survey area.
