There is an ancient cairn (and also a triangulation station) on the summit of Bengairn.

Name Book 1848

On the summit of Bengairn is a round cairn, 18.0m in diameter and 1.5m high, surmounted by an OS trig pillar. There is a modern marker cairn 10.0m to its north west.

Surveyed at 1:10 000.

Visited by OS (BS) 11 July 1977.
