(NX 6487 4915) Castle (NR) (Site of).

OS 6" map (1957)

OSA records that the ruins of a castle existed here at one time, though nothing remained in 1845. However, the ONB describes a large heap of ruins here, c.66' by 22', covered by vegetation, most of the stones being removed to build dykes. NSA adds that there are persons still living who remember the old tower, and the stairs by which they ascended it.

NSA 1845; Name Book 1849; OSA 1795

No trace of this tower survives; no further information.

Visited by OS (RD) 2 February 1971.
