Archaeology Notes

NX35NE 9 3817 5665.

An entire cairn is situated some 166 yds N of the Standing Stones of Torhouse (NX35NE 14). It is conical, about 256ft in basal circumference and about 12ft high.

This large circular cairn has been almost completely removed, and the site used as a dump for field clearance.

The remains of a dilapidated cairn, 28.0m in diameter and 1.0m maximum height. Its top is thickly covered with field clearance stones.
