Archaeology Notes

NX25SW 28 2355 5486

NX 23555486. An islet (No 13 on plan) apparently a small crannog, 37' x 27' x 3' high, and covered with rank green grass. Wilson had not examined it, nor noted any beams of wood or stakes. It is surrounded by peat, except on the W.

G Wilson 1873

This area, no longer an island, is marshy and covered in dense undergrowth. No evidence of a crannog could be found.

Visited by OS (TRG) 12 July 1976.
