Cairn Buy, which is in a good state of preservation, measures 43' N-S by 45' E-W and is 9' high. Its name probably comes from the tufts of yellow moss growing between the stones (RCAHMS 1912, visited 1911). M'Kerlie records a "Norseman's grave" in this cairn.
