This parish church, which stands on the S side of the village of New Luce, was built probably in the mid 17th century, when the parish was first disjoined from Old Luce. It is rectangular on plan (18.50m by 7.85m within walls up to 0.80m thick), and over the W gable there is a lantern bellcote. The building was heightened, remodelled and refurnished in the 18th and 19th centuries. To the S and E of the church there are a number of 18th-century gravestones.
RCAHMS 1987, visited February 1986.

New Luce. Repair of New Luce Church.
Letter from Sir Thomas Hay.
He agrees to the estimate for repair work and for the addition of 2 1/2 feet to the walls in order to increase the windows but he considers the estimate for plastering a needless expense.
