Archaeology Notes

NT95SW 7 c 921 530.

The Hospital at Hutton, dedicated to St John, belonged to the Trinitarians. It had its lands restored by Edward I in 1296. In 1451, it was granted to Dunglass Collegiate Church, and was burned by the English in 1542. No trace now remains, but it is believed ot have stood near Spittal House. (NT 9217 5309).
