Archaeology Notes

NT86NE 26 c. 87 69.

There are no visible remains of the peel which the Lumsden family erected at East Lumsden. It probably occupied the site of the present farmhouse. Around it stood the village occasionally mentioned in charters and burnt by Sir George Douglas in 1532. (Lumsdaine: NT 872 690)

A A Carr 1836.
