OS 6"map, (1957).

Nothing now remains of the old parish church of Whitsome, which stood in the centre of the churchyard.

It is mentioned in 1296 (J Ferguson 1892). It was repaired in 1718. Its choir and nave were both thatched (Fasti Eccles Scot, H Scott et al ed. 1917). There are some 17th century grave-stones in the churchyard.

A new church was built (at NT 8603 5048) in 1803, chancel added 1912. Its bell is dated 1650.

No trace remains of the old church. Sited to NT 8622 5033 from information given above.
