Only a small fragment of Hilton Church remains. It was dedicated by Bishop de Bernham in 1243. The churchyard contains some 17th century gravestones. Hilton parish was united to Whitsome in 1734.

The outline of this church, measuring 17.0m x 6.0m, can still be traced. The extant portion, part of the E wall, is 5' long 7' high and 1'6" thick, in fairly good condition. The old churchyard wall is visible as a grass-covered mound, and, as described, encloses some 17th century gravestones.
Re-surveyed at 1/2500.

Scheduled as 'Hilton Church, church and burial ground... the former parish church of Hilton and its burial ground... likely to be late medieval in origin... [and] visible as a ruined building, the earthwork remains of the adjacent burial ground and at least 25 burial markers.'

This church was situated to the east of Hilton farm, about ¾ mile east of Whitsome village. Only a featureless fragment of the east wall now remains.
