Archaeology Notes

NT85NE 6 8848 5674.

(NT 8848 5674) Arrowhead found (NAT)

OS 6" map, (1957).

An arrowhead of grey flint, 1.6" x 0.95", with broken barbs, which was found while digging turf at NT 8848 5674, was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1950 by Mr Orr (Accession no.AD 2252). (PSAS 1952 Donations).

The findspot was confirmed by Mr J Gardner, Maines Farm, who was presented at the time with Mr Orr's discovery. (Information in letter from H Orr, Dove Cottage, Candacraigs, Strathdon, Aberdeenshire to OS).
