The chapel at East Nisbet, which was subordinate to Edrom parish church (Fasti Eccles Scot, H Scott et al ed. 1917) was situated on the SW bank of the Whiteadder, near the small field called Chapel Haugh (NT 863 552). The ruins were taken down about the beginning of the 19th century, the stones being used to build a march dyke. No trace now remains.

No trace remains of this building. The only march dyke near that which used to run due S on the opposite side of the Whiteadder Water has been completely removed, and a wire fence substituted. No stones were found nearby.

The chapel of 'Nisbet' is recorded in 1141. (I B Cowan 1967).
