Archaeology Notes

NT76SE 13 764 605.

Twenty-seven small cairns, with one hut circle, are scattered on the N slope of Cockburn Law, along the ridge between the Whitadder Water and the Eller Burn.

J H Craw 1923.

Within the area centred at NT 766 606 are at least four- teen heather or turf covered cairns averaging 2.0m to 5.0m in diameter by 0.2m to 0.5m in height. They are almost certainly clearance heaps, possibly associated with the settlement at Edin's Hall (NT76SE 6). No trace of a hut circle was found.

Visited by OS(RD) 3 May 1966.
