NT76NE 1 c. 753 667

A 'British grave' was ploughed up some years ago on Hoprig farm (NT 753 667) above the tree-sheltered site of Cockburnspath Townhead, a now obsolete steading.

J Hardy 1879.

Local enquiries failed to establish this site.

Visited by OS (JLD) 29 October 1954.

The site of this probable cist cannot now be ascertained.

RCAHMS 1980.
