The 1993 1:10000 Ordnance Survey map shows a circular plantation situated about 300m south-east of Mellendean farmsteading. It has also been recorded on aerial photographs of the area. Historic maps of the county show that Mellendean, along with the plantation bank, was built between 1822 and 1840.
