Accessing Scotland's Past Project

The two-storeyed farmhouse at Harrietfield was built in the early nineteenth century.

During the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, many new farm buildings were constructed. The agricultural improvements of this period had huge effects, resulting in enclosed and drained fields, and the introduction of buildings with lime-mortared walls.
