Old Road, Scaw'd Law: Traces of an old hollow track may be seen crossing the summit-ridge of Scaw'd Law about 220 yds W of Dere Street (RR 8f) and running SE for about 1/4 mile to disappear in the mossy ground at the head of Harkers Burn. It appears to have risen from the valley in which stands Cunzierton farm, and no doubt ultimately joined up with Dere Street. The remains of a small enclosure lie on the SW side of the track where it crosses the ridge.
RCAHMS 1956, visited 1945.
The boggy hollow track described extends from NT 7465 1778 to NT 7480 1754; it is of little archaeological importance.
The enclosure, at NT 7472 1756, is subrectangular and of no great age. Visited by OS(EGC) 22 May 1968.
No change to the previous field report.
Visited by OS(JB) 21 October 1979.
The braided trackway is visible on aerial photograph (vertical air photograph OS 68/024/063, flown 1968).
