Archaeology Notes

NT71NE 66 7818 1663.

NT 7818 1663. A turf-covered cairn situated on a slight eminence on gently undulating ground at 290m OD. It measures 13.5m in overall diameter and is 1.0m high on the SE side with a flat top 10.0m in diameter. It is composed of earth and largish stones and appears to be undisturbed.

Surveyed at 1:10,000.

Cairn

This cairn is situated on a slight plateau, about 270m SW of Little Heuch Law. Measuring 10.7m in diameter and standing up to 0.6m in height, it has a flat-topped appearance. The centre and edges of the cairn have been disturbed by quarrying.
