(NT 7088 0896) Cairn (NR)

OS 6"map, (1963).

This cairn lies within a former plantation 650 yds NNW of Arks farm. It consists of a turf-covered oval mound measuring 38' NNW-SSE by 30' and 3' in height. A few stones are visible on the surface, but the cairn does not appear to have been opened.

Activities

Field Visit (22 October 1999)

This cairn is situated in a clearing within a forestry plantation, about 110m N of Law Sike burn. It measures 12m from N to S by 10m transversely and stands to a height of 1.2m. There is some evidence of stone robbing around the edges.
