Approx NT 669 660) Hut Circle, Birk Cleuch Hill: About 600 yds SE of Caldercleuch house (NT 666 665), on the NE slope of Birk Cleuch Hill, about 50 yds S of Elsie Cleuch and some 150 yds W of the Bothwell Water, at an elevation of 900ft OD, is a hut circle, measuring 21ft in diameter within a wall 4ft broad and 6 ins high. This wall on the S (higher) arc is of earth, but on the opposite side there is an irregular mound containing a quantity of stones.

Field Visit (30 June 1913)
About 600 yards south-east of Caldercleuch house, on the north-eastern slope of Birk Cleuch Hill, about 50 yards to the south of Elsie Cleuch and some 150 yards west of the Bothwell Water, at an elevation of 900 feet above sea-level, is a hut circle, of which the diameter is 21 feet within a wall 4 feet broad and rising 6 inches above the surrounding level. The wall on the southern or higher arc is of earth, but on the opposite and lower side there is an irregular mound containing a quantity of stones.
