Knock Hills

Cairn

NT 69907 09190

These two cairns are situated on the S shoulder of Knock Hills East, in an area of unimproved ground about 318m to the NW of Wooplaw farmstead. The larger of the two cairns (NT 69907 09180) measures 7.5m in diameter by 1m in height. There has been some stone robbing on the NE quardant, but a possible kerb stone survives on the SE side. A ditch, which survives best to the N and W, encircles the cairn and measures 2m in width with a depth of 0.2m. The smaller cairn (NT 69952 09132) is about 60m to the SE and measures 5m in diameter and 0.3m in height.
