Archaeology Notes

NT58NW 5 5329 8531.

A cist, measuring 3ft by 2ft was found 1 1/2ft below the surface by workmen digging a drain in a field which slopes down to the West Links golf course (name: NT 538 856). It contained a crouched inhumation, accompanied by fragments of a beaker (Clarke's N2 type). These fragments are now in the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland [NMAS] (Accession no: EG 91).
