Archaeology Notes

NT55NW 18 5377 5604 - 5407 5603.

NT 542 560 - NT 536 560. A cross-dyke runs from the head of a stream which enters the Whalplaw Burn just below Glenburie to an unnamed tributary of the Soonhope Burn, following a sinuous course for some 550 yds. The work consists of a bank of earth and small stones taken from a quarry-ditch on its N side; the bank is spread to a breadth of 12' and stands to a height of 1'6". The ditch is 3' wide and 1'6" deep.
