Lessudden was burnt by the English in 1544 and 1545. It was previously a place of considerable strength and contained sixteen bastle houses.

The site of this village was not ascertained during field investigation. Visited by OS (JLD) 21 February 1961

The village of Lessudden is now genearlly called St Boswells (centred NT 594 310). (See also NT53SE 46.)
