Archaeology Notes

NT53NW 12 521 388.

The high ground behind Chatto Crags (NT 521 388) bears abundant signs of stone walls and earthen dykes, with a rhomboidal enclosure which might furnish traces of antiquity.

J Freer 1892

(Area NT 5213 3883) No traces of the feature mentioned above were found during field perambulation, but a low mutilated field bank crosses the summit from SE to NW immediately W of the dry-stone sheep shelter.
