The rectilinear and subrectangular footings, dimensions from 6.0 by 4.0m to 27.0m by 7.0m, of a number of structures, including two shielings, accompanied by a length of wall and some clearance cairns.
R J Mercer 1978
An area of 18th-19th century depopulation.
Visit by OS 30 October 1980.
Scheduled as 'Achadh nan Eun, shielings... the remains of a number of small Post-Medieval houses and other features. This foundations of at least four small rectangular houses survive and there are traces of two additional possible rectangular buildings. These buildings dimensions vary in size from 6m by 4m to 27m by 7m. There are also traces of linear earthworks on this site. Thius would appear to represent part of a 'cottar town', may of which were destroyed during the clearances of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. The complexity of the remains may indicate that the site was occupied over a long period of time.'
Information from Historic Scotland, scheduling document dated 14 October 1991.
