At NC 6077 0563 is a hut circle built into a S-facing slope. It is peat-covered, but more clearly visible than of late due to recent heather burning. It measures 8.5m E-W by 6.0m within a wall spread to 2.0m and up to 0.4m high. The simple entrance in the E, and part of the wall in the SW have been mutilated by sheep tracks. There is no evidence of contemporary cultivation; the ground round about is stony and rocky.
Surveyed at 1:2500
Visited by OS (J B) 8 December 1980.
Field Visit (28 September 2010 - 29 September 2010)
The OS description matches the site well. Assuming the recorded grid reference at NC 6077 0563 is correct, this site has been completely destroyed by site levelling work in the past. There are no other hut circles in the vicinity. It is also some distance from the 33Kv line and most unlikely to be affected.
