Archaeology Notes

NT45SE 29 469 537.

A fortalice is said to have stood near the farmhouse of Nether Hartside (now Hartside: NT 469 537), and the adjoining field in which it stood is still called the "Castle" field, but it has been erased, presumably to build dykes.
