Archaeology Notes

NT45SE 21 470 543.

A stone circle, demolished for dyke material about 1864, is said to have stood near Kirktonhill fort (NT45SE 3 - at NT 470 543).

W Elliot 1872; J H Craw 1923

No trace of this stone circle was discovered during field investigation. Local enquiries at the manse failed to add further information.
