The head and footstones of a grave on the SE boundary of the farm of Dewar. Said to be the grave of the Piper of Peebles, who collapsed and died here playing from Peebles to Lauder for a wager.

A small stone about 1 1/2 feet high marks the spot.
Name Book 1853
A small dressed slab (obviously modern), 0.6m high with the words "The Pipers Grave" inscribed (and painted over apparently on 3 August 1955) on it. Not an antiquity.
