Archaeology Notes

NT33NW 13 3131 3898.

NT 313 390. At this spot is an unenclosed platform settlement, consisting of one platform, 45' in width, situated 65 yds from another, 60' wide. A third has been mutilated by quarrying. (Information from R W Feachem notebook 1963-7, 23)

RCAHMS 1967, visited 1963

Only one timber house platform - constituting a homestead - is visible, distinguished by a regular turf- covered back scoop and well-formed and consolidated front scarp. It measures 14.0m NW-SE by 8.0m. All the other scoops appear to be quarries having irregular edges with much stone exposed.

Surveyed at 1:2500.

Visited by OS (SFS) 10 September 1974
