NT29NW 5 c. 248 965

NT 248 965. An unfinished sandstone battle-axe found at Cluny Muir was anonymously donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1957-8. (Accession no: AH 230)

Proc Soc Antiq Scot 1960; F E S Roe 1966.

No further information.

Visited by OS (J P) 19 June 1974.

This battle-axe is an unfinished axample of Early form. It has not been sectioned, but has been petrologically identified as quartzite.
