Archaeology Notes

NT26SE 29 27 64.

In the late 15th c, Roslin stood at Bilston Burn (name: NT 270 648) half a mile from where it now stands. Sir William Sinclair of Roslin had the masons who were building Rosslyn Chapel (NT26SE 22) build houses for themselves at the present site of Roslin (NT 2763) so that they would be convenient to their work.
