(NT 2536 6831) Cairn (NR)

OS 1:10000 map (1974)

A circular symmetrical mound, 13.0m in diameter and 1.6m high, situated on a ridge. No kerb stones are now visible, but there is one upright stone near the top of the mound, which is thickly covered with bracken and undergrowth.

Visited by OS (JFC) 17 December 1953

There is a cairn on Galachlaw. An OS triangulation point is situated on it; it is well-preserved, and the remains of a kerb are clearly visible (ONB NT 2568; October 1946).

J N G Ritchie and A Ritchie 1972

This cairn is generally as described. The stone in the centre could not be located.

Visited by OS (SFS) 19 October 1975
