Archaeology Notes

NT26NE 17 c. 262 683.

A bronze scabbard, measuring 23.14" x 1.25", from Mortonhall (NT 262 683) is in the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS Accession no: FA 35). Datable to the late 1st c AD, it is made of bronze alloys of two different colours, and belongs to a style of Celtic act current among the Brigantes of NE England at that time.
