There are some slight remains of a cairn on Sheriff Muir, 520 yards ENE of Sheriff Muir Cottages. It consists of a circular patch of rough pasture 84' in diameter, under the surface of which numerous stones can be felt. This is probably the larger of the two cairns mentioned in the OSA. (The smaller is noted on NT24SW 40).
