Archaeology Notes

NT24SE 15 2545 4034.

(Centred NT 2540 4025) There was a waulk mill where Tweed Avenue now is, at the beginning of the 17th century. In 1476, Robert Myller was under obligation to build this mill. About 1760 the mill was given up; it has long since disappeared.

Sited to NT 2545 4034 from plan (of Royal Burgh of Peebles compiled in illustration from the burgh record 1604-52) in the Chambers Institute Museum, Peebles. No trace of the mill exists.
