The "Witches' Stone", given as "Witch's Stone by all authorities except the RCAHMS and Coles, was considered by early authorities, e.g. Wilson, to be the capstone of a cromlech, but was in fact a naturally-split block of whinstone, about 8' long and triangular in shape. Its upper surface bore a number of cup marks from 1 1/2" to 3" in diameter.

It was blown up about 1919.
