(NT 1099 5091) Upper Cairn (NR)

OS 6" map (1957)

"Upper Cairn" is situated about 970ft OD at the foot of the E slopes of North Muir Hill. Its base and flanks have been robbed for stones, the largest quarry scoops being on the E, N and W. The cairn, now largely overgrown, measures at least 70ft in diameter and 14ft in height. There is no sign of a surrounding ditch.
