Stone type: sandstone

Place of discovery: NT 1613 4672

Present location: built into the inner face of the churchyard wall north-west of the church, within the early 19th-century Aitken burial aisle.

Evidence for discovery: recorded by RCAHMS in 1962.

Present condition: trimmed for re-use but the carving is clear.

Description

The visible broad face of this slab is deeply incised with an outline cross, lacking the end of the shaft.

Date: ninth or tenth century.
