Archaeology Notes

NT10NE 2 1907 0514 and 1908 0512

(Originally classified as Enclosure and location cited as NT 190 051). A small circular enclosure within a modern stone enclosure is visible on air photographs (Economic Forestry, Moffat, 162/71/103, dated 28 December 1971). Location subsequently re-stated as NT NT 1907 0514 and 1908 0512, and re-classified as probable ring-enclosures.

These enclosures are not indicated on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Dumfriesshire, sheet 17, 1857), and are probably of comparatively recent date.

Information from RCAHMS (JRS), 26 January 1994.
