Archaeology Notes

NT08SW 8.07 c. 0268 8086

Subterranean ice-house 10 1/2ft in diameter, 16ft deep, sited approximately 300ft E of Carriden House and 26ft N of N garden path.

This subterranean ice-house is 10 1/2 feet in diameter and 16 feet deep. The building is situated near the top of a steep tree covered slope 100m north-east of Carriden House. The doorway of the building has been partially bricked up but otherwise there are no changes to the NMRS description.

Site recorded by GUARD during the Coastal Assessment Survey for Historic Scotland, 'The Firth of Forth from Dunbar to the Coast of Fife' 19th February 1996.
